Here’s a practice that in recent years I’ve found to be very helpful:
Whenever I’m unhappy or dissatisfied with someone or something, I examine my expectations: quite often, they’re misplaced, inappropriate, or unrealistic.
So as usual, the problem has more to do with me than with the others/circumstances involved.
And that’s a good thing, because that makes it much more fixable.
