Some years ago, a co-worker asked me my thoughts on global warming (that was back before they re-named it “climate change”, since, you know, the globe wasn’t actually warming). At the time, I didn’t know much about it, so I did a little research that evening.
What I quickly discovered (forgive the approximations, it was 8 years ago, I don’t recall the exact figures, but if memory serves, these are close):
1) On average, the earth’s temperature has risen .5 degrees per century for as long as we’ve been keeping records
2) The level of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere by human action is a mere 3% of the total—all the rest is from natural causes
3) The EPA itself issued a report that if all recommended actions to end human CO2 emissions were taken (essentially devastating all energy production and industry gobally, and plunging humanity back to the dark ages), after 100 years the temperature of the earth would be impacted by less than 1/10th of one degree, if at all
But more recently, I’ve learned of solar cycles (each lasting approximately 11 years), and that when the earth naturally warms during these cycles, the CO2 increases—not the other way around. The warming causes the rise in CO2 levels, rather than the rising CO2 levels causing the warming. And besides, it’s been demonstrated that plant life actually thrives in higher C02 levels.
So based on those observations, obviously, the anthropogenic (man-made) global warming/climate change hysteria is a farce.
And then, throw in the government’s typical efforts to create bogeymen in order to frighten the people into handing over their power, liberty, money, and property, along with the corruption inherent in any industry which receives government funding, and you’ve got a potent recipe for rampant disinformation.
Well now, Greenpeace founder Dr. Patrick Moore has addressed the Global Warming Policy Foundation in London (Oct 15 2015), telling them why he left the environmentalist group and became sceptical of man-made global warming.
From his speech:
“When I left Greenpeace I vowed to develop an environmental policy that was based on science and logic rather than sensationalism, misinformation, anti-humanism and fear.”
“NASA tells us that “Carbon Dioxide Controls Earth’s Temperature” in child-like denial of the many other factors involved in climate change. This is reminiscent of NASA’s contention that there might be life on Mars. Decades after it was demonstrated that there was no life on Mars, NASA continues to use it as a hook to raise public funding for more expeditions to the Red Planet. The promulgation of fear of Climate Change now serves the same purpose.”
“On the political front the leaders of the G7 plan to “end extreme poverty and hunger” by phasing out 85% of the world’s energy supply including 98% of the energy used to transport people and goods, including food. The Emperors of the world appear clothed in the photo taken at the close of the meeting but it was obviously Photo-shopped. They should be required to stand naked for making such a foolish statement.”
“But the most significant conflict is with the Panel’s mandate from the United Nations. They are required only to focus on “a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the atmosphere, and which is in addition to natural climate variability.”So if the IPCC found that climate change was not being affected by human alteration of the atmosphere or that it is not “dangerous” there would be no need for them to exist. They are virtually mandated to find on the side of apocalypse.”
