Something I’ve been pondering lately:

Processed food is engineered to be as addictive as possible; the casino industry spends billions on psychological studies and testing to make their facilities, games and slot machines as addictive as possible, with every feature—the sounds and music, the flashing lights, the position of the rolls and the sound of the coins hitting the dish—designed to hijack the addictive parts of our brain; and now, as I’ve recently written here on my blog, big tech is using those same methods to make their devices, apps, and platforms as addictive as possible; and of course, the addictiveness of television programming and video games is common knowledge…

But then, we’re told that addiction is some sort of mysterious “disease” that nobody really understands, and for which, unfortunately, there is no cure…sorry.

Now just think about that for a moment…
