UPDATED 10/4/25: Directory of Cat Rescue/Medical Care/Adoption Operations in Las Vegas

Now includes a downloadable/printable directory!

2.2k 0

As Lifeology subscribers know, I’m an avid supporter of Hoja Nueva, the foundation that works to rescue, rehabilitate, and “rewild” and/or preserve wildcats and other endangered animals in the Peruvian rain forest, the brainchild of Founder, Co-Director, and Ecologist Samantha Zwicker.

Which is also why I love videos like this one: This Lioness Thinks She’s a Housecat!

However, y’all may not know that I also follow/support various cat rescues here in Las Vegas. After all, as I’ve shared in my bio: “I love animals & wildlife, and am particularly fond of cats”, so it only stands to reason that I would support the wildlife rescue operations of Hoja Nueva, as well as local cat/animal rescue operations.

So, in an attempt to help them out, I’ve compiled a directory of cat rescue, medical care, and adoption operations here in Las Vegas, complete with contact info, mission statements, and links, with the hope that readers find it useful, a ready aid for those who may have a need for such services.

And, I am continually updating the list as new operations are discovered…

🐈 Desert Whiskers Rescue

Las Vegas, NV 89108
(702) 582-8291
contact@desertwhiskersrescue.org

“At Desert Whiskers Rescue, we understand that hardship doesn’t just affect people—it affects their pets too. Our mission is rooted in compassion, not just for the stray, sick, or forgotten cats on the streets, but also for the individuals and families doing their best to care for them in difficult circumstances. We’re here for the single parent who can’t afford vet care, the senior citizen feeding a colony out of their own grocery budget, and the kind soul who finds a cat in crisis and doesn’t know where to turn. We never judge—because we know that love, not income, defines a good home. Whether it’s through rescue, rehoming, TNR (trap-neuter-return), or simply offering support and resources, we’re committed to keeping tails wagging and hearts hopeful. At Desert Whiskers, every act of kindness matters—and every life matters.”
