As subscribers are aware, I am now publishing ebooks, free for subscribers to download.
So today, I’ve added Henry David Thoreau‘s renowned 1849 essay On the Duty of Civil Disobedience, which can be downloaded from my Free Ebook Library.
Originally titled Resistance to Civil Government, Thoreau’s On the Duty of Civil Disobedience is a foundational text in political philosophy. Rooted in the American Transcendentalist movement, the essay argues that individual moral conscience supersedes the mandates of state law, and that citizens are obligated to actively withdraw their complicity from a government that perpetuates systemic injustice.
So it’s easy to see why I thought it worthy of being included in my Free Ebook Library, and be sure to check out the rest of the available titles, with more being added regularly! Enjoy!
