The following video was posted over on 𝕏, and I felt compelled to share it:
Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), just like the girl mentioned in the video, I started saying “f*** this!” by the 3rd or 4th grade (in an authoritarian government school), decades before things got so much worse.
(On that note, I feel fortunate that it was long enough ago that they weren’t yet drugging the kids into obedience; in more recent times, I’m sure they would’ve drugged me to the gills to get me to “sit down and shut up!”, and who knows how that would have altered my mind and therefore my life, most likely for the worse…but I digress).
And even more recently, it was absolutely surreal to me during the COVID insanity: the largely unchallenging compliance to tyranny, not only around the world but even here in the US.
And even though on the one hand my “attitude” (independent/critical thinking/defying “authority”) has caused me substantial difficulty throughout much my life (especially in the early years), on the other hand it’s inspiring to see humanity starting to wake up and adopt that same mindset too.
Perhaps there’s hope for humanity, after all…
