Introducing: Pango Books!

Where Readers Can Buy & Sell Books To Each Other

57 0

More often than not, I buy my books used, else the addiction would bankrupt me. So Amazon sellers, eBay, and Abebooks are my typical go-to sites. And, of course, the library bookstore when I have occasion to visit there.

But recently, my online searches started including hits from the Pango Books webite, of which I was unfamiliar, and finally curiosity bested me and I decided to check it out.

So it’s a platform for book lovers to buy and sell books to each other. And, you have the option to keep the money from your book sales on account, as “Pango Bucks”, to use to buy books from other bookies on the platform. I love the entire concept!

From the Website:

“PangoBooks was built by readers for readers. We know exactly how special books are so we built the tech to empower other readers to share the books you love. Unlike other secondhand marketplaces, PangoBooks is optimized for books and readers. Start the bookstore of your dreams today with our app.”

So I’ve started purchasing books on Pango Books, and I enjoy the process, knowing I’m buying from avid readers who appreciate books as well as each other. Thus far, there have been no issues, and great deals! My only complaint is the platform apparently doesn’t accept PayPal, which is my preferred payment method on new sites that haven’t yet earned my trust. But again, thus far there have been zero issues, everything has gone smoothly, and there’s a nice satisfaction inherent in the process of knowing I’m buying from a fellow book lover…

Oh—and another thing I like about Pango is that the sellers post photos of the actual books…it’s gotten to where on the other platforms, almost all the books listed just show “stock photos”, instead of photos of the actual books—and when you’re buying used books, it’s important to see what you’re actually getting, what kind of condition it’s in, the correct edition, format, etc. So I’d begun opting for the listings with actual photos instead of stock photos, even if the price is a little higher, so I know what I’m buying. But with Pango, they all seem be actual photos of the books! Very nice!

Just FYI, in case anyone wants to check it out!
