As INSIGHTS subscribers are aware, I’m a big supporter of Dr. Samantha Zwicker‘s mission, through the Hoja Nueva center located in the Peruvian rain forest, of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rewilding and/or preserving endangered wildlife in the area.
I’ve written several articles about them here.
Well, they’re asking for a little help from the backstage crew (us), as they have recently acquired two baby pumas in immediate need of emergency care:

Urgent: Matching Fundraiser to Save Two Baby Pumas!
We have an urgent and incredible opportunity to save two baby pumas in need of rescue. Both were found separately by local governments in two bordering departments of highland Peru. These vulnerable cubs face a precarious future without our immediate intervention.
Two anonymous donors have generously pledged to match every dollar donated up to $7K! This means your contribution will go twice as far in ensuring these pumas receive the care and protection they desperately need.
Why We Need Your Help Now
• Swift Rescue and Transport: Immediate funds are needed to coordinate the safe transport of these pumas to our center at Hoja Nueva. Time is of the essence to ensure their well-being.
• Specialized Enclosures: We plan to construct two separate big cat enclosures, or potentially one super large, specialized enclosure tailored to the needs of these pumas. This will allow them to grow in a natural environment, minimizing human contact and maintaining their wildness.
• Initial Care and Sustenance: The initial months of care are critical. Your donations will provide the necessary medical care, food, and enrichment to help these pumas thrive.
Our Growing Impact
This year alone, we have already rescued two pumas, making this an unprecedented opportunity to rescue four in total. Our efforts are gaining recognition, and the increase in rescues is a testament to the vital role Hoja Nueva plays in wildlife conservation.
